Chapter 1

When Jamie Erin woke up, she was aching all over. She was used to it, after all, she had to share a bed with her 4 crazy, kicking sisters: Ruby, Allie, Iris, and Annabeth. After stretching, Jamie finally found some energy to roll out of bed. She then went to the bathroom to do her business, but before she could enter the bathroom, she saw a picture of her dad with Jamie in his arms, just as a baby.

 

"Do not cry, she told herself, do not cry!"

 

Her dad, John Erin, was in the military, and they barely saw him. Jamie’s mother, Angelina Erin, mourned every single day about having her husband in the military. Jamie’s family were definitely not on the rich side, which made her saddened mother into a depressed state. Finally shaking off the thoughts, she went to the bathroom. After that, Jamie went out of the bathroom to make breakfast for her sisters and mother. She was usually the “mom” of the house, due to her own one being incapacitated and her being the oldest. After cooking up some leftover soup, she turned of the oven and let the soup cool down on the table. Ruby then came out followed by Iris, Allie, and last but not least, Annabeth, who was the youngest of them all. Jamie didn’t even bother to ask where their mother was, knowing she was in her room, still unable to move off the bed. She rolled her eyes at the thought.

 

“Hey guys, there’s leftover soup on the table, it needs to cool down before you guys eat it, so go do some reading or something. Don’t make a mess,” Jamie said with a stern look. “I need to go get some groceries because we’re running out.”

 

Jamie heard mumbles of “okay,” and grabbed the leftover cash on the counter. She then left the house, with her mourning mother and 4 crazy, kicking sisters in it.
